BASTON FEN FISHERYBaston Fen Fishery is a small syndicate, based on a 6 lake complex that is about 2 miles west of the small village of Baston in Lincolnshire, which is approximately 8 miles north of Peterborough, on the A15 road, set in a wildlife conservation area. The fish caught from here regularly appear in the national fishing papers, the biggest of which weighs around 37 to 38 pound and is called Popeye. The lakes are called Long Island, Pine, Birch, Park, Prom and the Ocean. All the lakes except for Birch and Pine regularly produce 30lb fish and they also hold some big pike, bream and tench. The pike go up to mid twenties and the bream reach 10lb and the tench go up to 8lb. Not that us serious carp anglers are interested in those breeds. Birch regularly produces 250 to 300 pounds of tench for a days fishing!!. If you want any details about joining the syndicate, then drop me an email and I will pass your details onto the secretary. The cost for the 1999 and 2000 seasons was £175. Please Note: The owners of the complex have decided not to open the lakes for the 2001/2002 season due to Foot and Mouth The next 4 pics are of Long Island Lake
